An open notebook on a kitchen counter.

If you've ever lost a warranty claim because you couldn't find the receipt, overpaid a contractor because you had no baseline, or just felt vaguely behind on everything your home needs — this post is for you.

The problem with how we run our homes

Home ownership in 2026 looks almost the same as it did in 1986. Manuals live in a junk drawer. Receipts live in an email account you haven't searched in five years. Service history lives in the head of whoever you called last time — and that's only if you still remember their name.

Meanwhile every other part of your life has gone digital. Your finances, your health, your kid's schoolwork — all searchable in two taps. But the single most expensive asset you own is still managed from a binder.

What we're building instead

Abodio is a simple idea, executed well: your home, in one living record. Every appliance, every repair, every document you'll ever need — searchable, shareable, and yours.

We're going to use this space to share the things we learn along the way. Playbooks for common repairs. Cost benchmarks by region. What to ask a contractor before they start. The shorthand that experienced homeowners use without even thinking about it.

A quick note on who we are

We're a small team. We're homeowners. We got tired of the mess and decided to build the thing we wanted. You can read more about us on the Our Story page — or just start a free account and try Abodio for yourself. Either way, welcome.
